Désolée, tout est en anglais

On behalf of all of us at Women’s Ordination Conference and FutureChurch, thank you so much for registering for “Diakonia & Determination!”

We hope you were able to join us live on Monday evening as we prayed to renew our hearts with the spirit of diakonia and determination so that we may transform our church into a beloved community, alive with the gifts, potential, and vocations of all its members.

We are so grateful to everyone who attended and everyone who participated, and especially to Rose Lue, Alyssa Pedicino, and Carmen Ramos, who blessed us with their powerful witnesses. It was a beautiful and sacred time of lament, hope, and determination because of all of you and your presence.

If you were unable to join us live, would like to rewatch, or share with others, the video can be accessed at https://youtu.be/yrd6RDNrBH4.

  • Learn and share! Education about the history of women deacons is still needed!  Consider hosting a study group on Women Deacons: Past, Present, Future by Phyllis Zagano, Gary Macy, and William Ditewig. Resources can be found at https://sites.hofstra.edu/phyllis-zagano/
  • Cultivate noisy, joyful solidarity! Hold a “Honk for Women Priests” or “Honk for Women Deacons” sign outside your cathedral, diocesan office, or symbolic place and you will be surprised by the support you find!
  • Attend a Listening Session! – Synod delegate, Dr. Cynthia Bailey Manns, will host a listening session on women in the Church on July 2 as she prepares to travel to Rome and participate (and VOTE!) in the October 2024 Synod Assembly. Visit https://futurechurch.org/event/?=363 for details and registration.
